Relationship Issues

Relationships — whether with parents, siblings, children, partners, bosses, or anyone else— can bring out both the best and worst in us. If you have noticed that you keep experiencing similar dynamics in different relationships over time, you may be starting to recognize a pattern that you can start to change.

Many people experience relational trauma, a type of trauma and/or abuse that occurs over time in relationships.

Part of my role is to provide psycho-education to help identify abusive versus nurturing relationship dynamics, and to help you function in a way where you can feel safe and empowered in relation to others.

Therapy can help illuminate the root of dysfunctional patterns, which often begin in childhood. As a Post Induction Trained (PIT) therapist, one of my primary approaches is to use Inner Child Work. This approach helps to release emotions from childhood so you can learn to re-parent yourself and give yourself the nurturing you may have never received as a child.

The good news is you don’t have to spend a lot of time revisiting all of your childhood memories, we can quickly identify dysfunctional patterns so you can heal them. Learning to cultivate compassion for your Inner Child can be an important step to releasing these patterns so you can start to have more liberating experiences in life.
